The knowledge community that is generated out of virtual interactive environments can question stereotypes, reconfigure old epistemic structures, and postulate new notions of what it means to be both a global citizen and a traditional monastic student. McDaniel and his collaborators seek to offer students, scholars an opportunity to freely communicate through a massive monitored listserv where they can share ideas, publish drafts of scholarly inquests, and discuss joint projects.
